RAGGING A MENACE OR MELODY

RAGGING SECURITY SYSTEM
The New HRD Minister has proved that Something Big and Beneficial could be really done/achieved within a short period of 100 Days and without declaring any formal or informal “Ten/Twenty Point Education Programme” strong signals could be sent in the Circles that “Education” is a Priority Subject of the Union Government and all such sensitive subjects like Ragging and Running of School/College without inadequate infrastructure would be taken seriously.
The establishment of an ‘Apex Helpline’ for the entire Nation is a welcome step, which would enable the victims to register their respective Complaints and would equally enable the Union Government to visualise the spectrum of the menace and to provide remedial measures on a large scale by uniformly developing mechanism for Ragging.
The establishment of Ragging Security System would equally provide adequate data to the Parliament to visualise necessity of making Amendments in Civil and Criminal Laws, while striking a balance in an equitable manner, as the Tool of Controlling Menace of Ragging should be well equipped and strong enough to chaff the grain from the husk, for punishing the ‘guilty’ and forgive the ‘naughty’ because ‘pranks’ and ‘pricks’ though at times could bring the element of ‘Ragging’ technically but a College Life without such Sweet and Sour Memories would be a Life without Soul.
Let’s Hope that the HRD Minister would handle the menace and prove his metal but would also retain the serenity and stupidity of the Young College Goers, who initially engage themselves in ‘Ragging’ with an objective of seeking ‘Introduction’ of the New Entrant and let him Learn the ‘Golden Tradition’ along with routine Teaching/Coaching Courses and suddenly Some of Them enthusiastically cross limits of decency and start abusing their position of a ‘Senior’ and there should come the deterrent feeling of being Caught and Taught a “Lesson”.
Let ‘Ragging’ be taken seriously by all the Countrymen, Students and Legislators, but the Normal Life and Normal Relationship of Seniors and Juniors may not be affected and the ‘Fun n Frolic’ aspect of College Life may not be allowed to be evaporated or placed in a tight compartment, making it ‘touch me not’ a subject.
